A judge said there will not be a citizenship question on the 2020 census.

President Trump wants it. He usually gets what he wants.

Now, it looks like he may take executive action.

From Axios:

President Trump is considering an executive order to try to move forward with a citizenship question on the 2020 census, top sources tell Jonathan Swan and me.

-“We didn’t come this far just to throw in the towel,” said a senior administration official with direct knowledge of the conversations.

Administration lawyers are exploring various legal options.

-A senior legal source said: “The administration is considering the appropriateness of an executive order that would address the constitutional need for the citizenship question to be included in the 2020 census.”

-But there is considerable skepticism within the administration that an executive order would succeed.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is one of the proud Americans not in favor of a citizenship question, but it looks like AOC may not have a good chance of being re-elected to Congress in 2020.

Even people in her own district don’t really like her.

From Washington Examiner:

She’s a star on the national political stage, but Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is viewed skeptically back in her Queens and Bronx 14th Congressional District, according to a new door-to-door survey.

It found that she has a low 21% favorability rating, that just 11% believe she has their best interests in mind, and that only 13% would vote to reelect her.

The survey of registered voters was conducted by the political action committee targeting her with a Federal Election Commission complaint, Stop The AOC PAC.

Here are the key findings:

-42% are unfamiliar with AOC.

-51% have an unfavorable view of her.

-33% are ready to vote against her, and only 13% would vote for her.

Like most Americans who are in-the-know assumed, Trump declared a national emergency at the southern border after Democrats refused to compromise.

Sure, Dems gave Trump just over $1 billion for border security and 55-miles of wall, but they know that’s not enough to get the job done.

As it turns out, Trump is going off of an executive order from Barack Obama to march forward with building his long-promised wall.

It looks like the Obama presidency was good for something after all.

From Law And Crime:

President Donald Trump held a wide-ranging Friday press conference in which he reiterated that if “you don’t have a border, you don’t have a country,” defending his invocation of the National Emergencies Act to help fund the building of The Wall. The president said he aims to stop illegal immigration, the influx of drugs and criminal into America. He cited past emergency declarations, including one by President Barack Obama, that Trump said targeted cartels.

Jimmy Carter is now saying the same thing as every other Democrat when it comes to President Trump.

CARTER: “Well, the President himself should condemn it, admit it happened, which I think 16 of our intelligence agencies have already agreed to say. And there’s no doubt that the Russians did interfere in the election and I think the interference, although not yet quantified, if fully investigated would show that Trump didn’t actually win the election in 2016. He lost the election and he was put into office because of the Russian interference on his behalf.”

MEACHAM: “So you believe President Trump is an illegitimate president?”

CARTER: “Based on what I just said, which I can’t retract —”
