Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden may have just cost himself the election after President Trump backed him into a corner – and the Democrat said he wanted to eliminate one of the nation’s largest industries.
Joe Biden admitted that his administration would push to “transition” from the oil industry, a decision that would leave working class Americans in crucial states without jobs.
“Would he close down the oil industry?” Trump asked. “Would you close down the oil industry?”
“I would transition from the oil industry, yes,” Biden responded.
“That’s a big statement,” Trump responded immediately, knowing Joe had made a major mistake by revealing his true intent.
“It is a big statement, because … the oil industry pollutes significantly,” Biden emphasized, later adding: “It has to be replaced by renewable energy over time, over time. And I’d stop giving to the oil industry — I’d stop giving them federal subsidies. [Trump] won’t give federal subsidies to solar and wind. Why are we giving it to oil industry?”
Trump responded to Biden’s attempted lies here, saying, “We actually do give it to solar and wind, and that’s maybe the biggest statement in terms of business … because basically what he’s saying is he is going to destroy the oil industry. Will you remember that, Texas? Will you remember that, Pennsylvania? Oklahoma?”
Twitter erupted with users baffled by Joe Biden’s decision to put an end to oil.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott decried the move that would wreak havoc on his state’s economy saying, “Biden wants to ‘transition’ away from the oil industry. He just killed paycheck earned by hardworking families in Texas. Joe just wants to transition away from Texas. Remember that on election day.”
Political commentator Jesse Kelly said that after an answer like that, he doesn’t see a path to victory for sleepy Joe. “Trump campaign is gonna roll out a massive ad buy in Pennsylvania with that idiotic Biden answer about oil. Unless someone shows me a map with a path to victory for Biden when he loses Florida (which he will) and Pennsylvania, that might have sealed the deal tonight,” tweeted Kelly.
Robby Starbuck, another political commentator tweeted saying, “Joe Biden just said he would transition from the oil industry. That means kill the oil industry. The moderator’s response ‘why would you do that?’ was hilarious. She sounded confused why he would do this to his campaign. His far left plan slipped out. Massive error by Joe.”
Earlier in the debate on the topic of climate change and jobs, Biden denied that he would ban fracking, even though Trump noted that Biden has been recorded as saying as such.
Biden responded to Trump’s comments and challenged the president to prove his claims with video and the president responded by so almost immediately.
“We’re going to have the greatest economy in the world,” Trump said. “But if you want to kill the economy, get rid of your oil industry. And what about fracking? Now we have to ask him about fracking.”
“I have never said I oppose fracking,” Biden claimed.
“You said it on tape,” Trump fired back.
“I—show the tape, put it on your website,” Biden yelled. “The fact of the matter is he’s flat lying.”
That’s exactly what Trump did in this Video.
The United States has achieved energy independence for the first time in over 50 years under President Trump thanks to deregulation and tax cuts that have enabled us to become more competitive – something that Joe Biden apparently wants to put an end to.
