So much for “the news.”

The three mainstream TV networks — ABC, CBS, and NBC — completely skipped coverage of the bombshell dropped by former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates on Wednesday during her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Yates said in the hearing that then-FBI Director James Comey went “rogue” when probing the incoming national security adviser Michael Flynn in January 2017.

“Instead of reporting on Yates’s shocking testimony, all three networks boasted how former Vice President Joe Biden decided to give his convention speech from the safety of his basement in Delaware,” the Media Research Center (MRC) reported. “In stark contrast, Fox News Channel’s The Story and correspondent Gillian Turner weren’t afraid to inform viewers of what Yates said.”

“Chairman Lindsey Graham dove in headfirst, grilling Sally Yates about that now-infamous Oval Office meeting with President Obama and FBI Director James Comey on January 5, 2017,” Turner noted before playing this soundbite of Graham getting Yates to spill about Comey:

GRAHAM: Did Comey go rogue?

YATES: You could use that term, yes.

GRAHAM: Finally.

MRC news analyst Nicholas Fondacaro noted that ABC, NBC and CBS also “blacked out how Comey conceded the FBI had deceived the FISA courts with their warrant applications” during a 2019 interview with “FOX News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace.

Of the omissions during the Yates testimony, Fondacaro said it is “another example of the broadcast networks covering up the degree of corruption in the Russia investigation.”

President Trump doesn’t mince words. Not with voters, not with the media, and not with foreign leaders.

The president is in London this week for NATO meetings, a cup of tea with some British royalty and a slew of bilateral meetings with some prominent foreign heads of state. And he’s already making headlines.

Before Trump arrived, French President Emanuel Macron took a shot at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, an intergovernmental military alliance between 29 North American and European countries.

“What we are currently experiencing is the brain death of NATO,” Macron told The Economist magazine, referring to Trump’s decision to withdraw troops from northeastern Syria. He said the U.S. appears to be “turning its back on us.”

Trump fired back.

“I heard that President Macron said that NATO is brain dead and I think that’s insulting to a lot of different forces, including a man that does a very good job at running NATO. It has a great purpose, especially with the fact that NATO is becoming much more flexible in terms of what it looked at,” Trump said.

“It’s a tough statement. When you make a statement like that, that is a very, very nasty statement to essentially, including them, 28 countries.” And Trump added: “Nobody needs NATO more than France, if you just look back over the last long period of time. … That’s why I think when France makes a statement like they made about NATO, that’s a very dangerous statement for them to make.”

Then Trump and Macron met face to face.

It didn’t go well for Macron.

In a tense exchange, Trump whacked Macron, asking him if he’d like to take back “some nice ISIS fighters” — and then hit him again for his “non-answer.”

“I have not spoken to the president about that — would you like some nice ISIS fighters?” he asked Macron, when asked about ISIS fighters from Europe captured in Syria. “I can give them to you, you can take every one you want.”

Macron dodged the question in a rambling answer in which he told Trump “be serious.”

Trump didn’t like that.

“This is why he’s a great politician, because that’s one of the greatest non-answers I’ve ever heard,” Trump said.

On the day President Obama moved out of the White House, his staffers left copies of books by Obama in “every” White House office with notes that read, “You will fail,” President Trump’s press secretary said Tuesday.

“We came into the White House, I’ll tell you something. Every office was filled with Obama books, and we had notes left behind that said, ‘You will fail,’ ‘You aren’t going to make it,’” White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham told a Norfolk, Virginia, radio station, according to The Daily Mail.

“And in the press office, there was a big note taped to a door that said, ‘You will fail,’” Grisham said. “And they had filled, they had filled the—” she said before breaking off.

She told after the broadcast that Obama aides had left cabinets in the press office ‘filled’ with books by President Obama. And one particular ‘You will fail’ note, she said, was taped to the inside of one of those cabinet doors.

Former former West Wing aides, all of whom came to the White House at the beginning of the Trump administration, told after the broadcast first created a buzz on Twitter that they recalled hearing about it on day one.

‘It was a mess that first week,’ one recalled Tuesday. ‘Yeah, there were mean notes left in odd places. One in a deputy press secretary’s office, one inside a desk drawer in upper press, another on a bathroom mirror. They were all about how we were doomed to failure.’

But some former Obama staffers said on Twitter that it didn’t happen.

“This is another bald faced lie,” former Obama national security adviser Susan Rice wrote.

Chris Lu, who served as Obama’s Cabinet secretary, asked why no one in the Trump administration mentioned it for three years.

“This is absolutely not true,” he wrote. “Obama repeatedly and publicly praised Bush cooperation during 2009 transition, and pledged we would provide same cooperation to whoever followed us. And that’s what we did. If Grisham is correct, why has it taken 3 years to come out?”

“Amid the flurry of pushback from Obama aides, Grisham clarified her comment to note she was referring specifically to the lower press office,” The Hill reported.

“In fact, I had a lovely note left for me in the East Wing, and I tracked the woman down and thanked her,” she said in a statement to The Hill. “I was talking specifically about our experience in the lower press office — nowhere else.”

“I don’t know why everyone is so sensitive!” Grisham added. “At the time we saw it as kind of a prank, and something that always happened. We were so busy trying to learn where the bathrooms were and how to turn on the lights, it wasn’t that big of a deal.”

Pranks have been common during transitions. In addition to taking W keys off keyboards, staffers of Bill Clinton pulled other shenanigans before George W. Bush moved in.

“Scatter bumper stickers. Record obscene voice-mail greetings. Damage furniture. White-out computer keyboards. Smear Vaseline over desks. Unplug refrigerators. Write on walls. Take cellphones, TV remotes or presidential medallions. Glue telephones or drawers. Abandon holiday decorations. Smash locks. Clinton’s team did all of this, and at Congress’s request, the scene was meticulously reconstructed through nearly 200 after-action interviews,” the Washington Post wrote.
