The media loves to hate President Trump. The way they choose to cover Trump is bad news all the time.

There is no balance in their coverage, such is the animus towards Trump. Look, Trump has made mistakes and those warrant coverage, but so do his wins. He has done quite a lot that is good for this country.

Put it this way, if Obama got this done this would be front page news in the media. When Trump does it, nary a word.

From Forbes: Media coverage of President Trump is so consistently negative that a casual observer might easily conclude he has accomplished nothing constructive during his time in the White House. But here is an example of a major spending program where the President pledged to save billions of dollars and proceeded to do precisely that through tough negotiating and relentless pressure.

The program in question is the F-35 fighter, by far the biggest weapons program currently being funded anywhere in the world. The Pentagon has developed three different versions of the F-35 to replace the Cold War tactical aircraft of the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps. The plane is also being bought by a dozen allies.

Trump never had any trouble understanding the operational advantages of a supersonic, multi-mission fighter that is invisible to radar. But from day one, he was not happy with the trillion-dollar price-tag attached to the program for buying over 2,000 planes and then keeping them in operation through 2070. Even after it was explained to him that much of that cost was inflation estimates for future years, he still thought the price was way too high.

So he decided to do something about it. In fact, Trump began his campaign to lower the cost of F-35 even before he was inaugurated. In a tweet he wrote on December 12, 2016, the President-elect said “billions of dollars can and will be saved” by pressing contractors for a better deal. Lockheed Martin, the company building the plane, saw its share price plummet 5%, and CEO Marillyn Hewson soon found herself meeting with a grim Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort to explain why the fighter cost so much.

Hewson undoubtedly argued that the F-35 was far more capable than the Cold War planes it would replace—in fact, ten times better than legacy planes at jamming enemy radar, eight times better at surveillance, six times better at air-to-air combat, five times better at striking ground targets. Combat exercises later demonstrated that in wartime, the F-35 would shoot down 20 enemy fighters for every U.S. plane lost.

But Trump wasn’t mollified. He insisted the price was too high. Only a week before his election, the Pentagon and Lockheed had agreed on terms for building a ninth production lot of F-35s. The Air Force version, representing nearly three-quarters of the domestic production run (more if you count foreign sales), was priced at $102 million each. Trump was convinced he could do better than the Obama administration had done, because he thought he was a better negotiator.

It turns out he was right. In the first production lot that his team negotiated, Lot 10, the price-tag for the Air Force version fell nearly 8% to $94 million. The cost of other variants for the Navy and Marine Corps fell too, cumulatively saving taxpayers $500 million on just that one production lot. Lockheed Martin hadn’t been planning to cut the price that far that fast, but after Trump’s criticism of the program it decided to sharpen its pencils and find savings fast.

I know all this because Lockheed is a contributor to my think tank and a consulting client, so I saw the company’s angst up close as it endured unprecedented pressure from the nation’s chief executive. Trump’s team came back the following year and won further price reductions of 6% on the Air Force version and hefty cuts in the cost of each sea-service version. Those negotiations were led by Secretary Shanahan, but it didn’t take an insider to figure out what guidance he has been given by the president. So the cost of each F-35A (the Air Force version) fell from $102 million in the last Obama negotiation to under $90 million in the second Trump negotiation.

So this is one instance where President Trump’s negotiating skills have made a big difference in reducing government costs. The president promised he would deliver billions of dollars in savings, and that is what he has done. A skillful combination of threats, persuasion and compromise has pushed the cost of each F-35 below the list price for an empty jetliner—and nobody expects the jetliner to survive a flight through hostile air space.

It’s a safe bet that President Trump won’t get any more credit for his F-35 triumph from the mainstream media than he has gotten for creating six million new jobs or eliminating regulations. But his administration has now positioned its biggest weapons program to reap huge savings as production ramps up for America’s joint force and its allies. This is the kind of efficiency that the people who originally conceived the F-35 fighter had hoped for, but it took Trump to make it happen.

John Brennan just got some very bad news. Bill Barr has his sights set squarely on Brennan and the CIA and what they may have done to hurt Trump.

Brennan for one sounds nervous, “Well I think Vice President Biden was talking about Mr. Trump’s impact on our national security as well as credibility as a nation across the board,” Brennan told Chris Matthews on MSNBC.

“So from the standpoint of a threat, he is emphasizing how harmful Mr. Trump’s actions — and as well as his inactions — in terms of addressing the issues we need to address, that it is a danger and one that is an existential threat.”

“It’s hard to point out any aspect of Trump’s behavior that is more dangerous than another,” he continued. “He doesn’t seem to be intellectually curious about things that affect our lives and lives of future generations. Whether it’s climate change or other issues, such as the threats that exist in that cyber environment,” Barr said.

Enter Bill Barr. From CNN:

The Justice Department will request interviews with senior Central Intelligence Agency officers as part of Attorney General William Barr’s review of the origins of the 2016 Russia investigation and surveillance surrounding then-presidential candidate Donald Trump’s campaign, The New York Times reported Wednesday.

The interview plans indicate the department is focused partly on the conclusion by the US intelligence community that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an “influence campaign” aimed at hurting Hillary Clinton and helping Trump in the 2016 presidential election, the Times reports.

The Justice Department review, while not a criminal inquiry, has provoked anxiety within the CIA, former officials tell the Times. Senior agency officials question why the CIA’s analytical work should be scrutinized by a federal prosecutor, according to the Times.

The interview requests have not been formally submitted, the Times reports, but US Attorney John Durham will seek the interviews. Durham is a career federal prosecutor in Connecticut who was tapped by Barr to lead the effort to examine the origin of the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign.

CIA Director Gina Haspel has told senior officials that the agency will cooperate, current and former US officials tell the Times, while protecting sources and critical pieces of intelligence. The CIA and Justice Department declined to comment to the paper.

For months, Trump and his GOP allies had demanded Justice formally examine the origins of the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign.

Barr’s review will be “broad in scope and multifaceted,” examining actions by US and foreign intelligence agencies, “as well as non-governmental organizations and individuals,” according to a recent letter from the department to House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler.

President Trump is on a roll and has his enemies right where he wants them. Look, the establishment (both parties) has thrown everything but the kitchen sink at Trump to take him down.

They failed and now Trump is going on the offensive. Expect many more aggressive moves like this to come from Trump’s team as he pivots from being the one under siege to the one exerting on the pressure. Remember, Barr will announce the results from his investigation and it does not look good for Comey and the gang. The tide has definitely turned.

From The Hill: The Trump campaign is requesting that a federal court sanction the Democratic National Committee (DNC) over its lawsuit alleging that the campaign conspired with Russia to interfere in the 2016 election, citing special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.

In a court filing Tuesday evening, attorneys for the campaign said Mueller’s findings show that the campaign did not work with Russia to meddle in the election, and that the charges against the campaign should be dismissed and the DNC sanctioned as a result.

“In an over-400-page Report, the Special Counsel not only explains that his investigation ‘did not establish’ any such conspiracy or coordination, but debunks any such conclusion by walking through the vast body of evidence that his Office collected and establishing that none of this evidence showed that the Campaign formed any sort of agreement with Russia,” the court filing reads.

“In so doing, the Report makes clear that the DNC will never be able to prove the key allegations underlying all of its claims against the Campaign.”

Calling the lawsuit “a politically motivated sham case,” the campaign said the DNC is acting to move forward with the complaint “all in a doomed effort to prove a falsehood.”

“In short, since the DNC’s frivolous legal theories have now been exposed as resting on frivolous factual fantasies, these are two independent reasons to terminate this sham political litigation before it does even more harm,” the filing reads.

The Trump campaign is asking that the claims against them be dismissed permanently, and for the Democrats to reimburse them for all legal fees and costs caused by the lawsuit. It is also asking that oral arguments be held over whether sanctions should be issued.

The DNC on Wednesday pointed to a letter the committee sent to the campaign earlier this month and obtained by Courthouse News, indicating that it will not give up the legal fight against the campaign in light of Mueller’s report.

“[T]he Special Counsel’s Report does not ‘refute’ the DNC’s claim that the Trump Campaign conspired with Russia. Rather, the Report methodically compiles evidence that the Trump Campaign participated in Russia’s plan to interfere in the 2016 election,” DNC lawyer Joseph Sellers wrote in the letter sent to the Trump campaign on Sunday.

Sellers said any attempt by the Trump campaign to pursue sanctions against the DNC would be “wholly groundless” and could ultimately result in sanctions be placed against the campaign.

Ben Carson has been under constant assault from the left and their friends in the media for the cardinal sin of being a conservative African American.

Ben cuts through all the noise and delivers the truth and the truth they hate him for it. And the truth is that our government wastes money while doing great work. Moreover, the sad truth we must face is that wait times to get public housing is soaring, hurting poor Americans who need it the most. Ben made the bold move to try to fix the system by removing illegal immigrants from illegally getting access and the left went nuts. Newt wrote,

“In a bold move, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson is both helping poor Americans and enforcing the law.

Some in Congress may consider enforcing the law and prioritizing help for poor Americans (including people who immigrated to the U.S. legally) over help for people in the country illegally controversial or unacceptable. The solution for their position is for Congress to change the law. Until then, it is pretty hard to complain that a cabinet officer is enforcing the law which Congress wrote.

Helping poor American families is a core mission of the HUD. One lifeline HUD extends to vulnerable families is housing assistance.

Yet, 75 percent of Americans eligible for housing assistance – many of whom are children, seniors, or persons living with a disability – are prevented from receiving the financial aid to which they are legally entitled.

In fact, millions of qualified American families are stuck on waiting lists that have unending queues – the average of which stretch on for years.

In Los Angeles, Calif., the waiting list is more than four years long. In Miami-Dade County, Fla., thousands have been waitlisted since July 2008 – more than a decade. In other localities, such as Orange County, Calif., and Orlando, Fla., Since 2015, public housing authorities have decided to simply close their waiting list and abandon new applications altogether.

Despite these waiting lists for American citizens, there are an estimated 32,000 households occupied by people in the country illegally, who have no right to be getting taxpayer assistance. This is 32,000 households that could be occupied by American citizens who qualify for the assistance but cannot get it.

In effect, thousands of Americans are being discriminated against in favor of people who are here illegally – or are unlawfully receiving taxpayer aid they do not deserve and should not be getting.

HUD Secretary Ben Carson has investigated this injustice and discovered that HUD has long been prohibited from granting federal funds to people in the country illegally. That prohibition – which Congress enacted, and Congress has the power to change – includes a mandate to end assistance whenever a leaseholder knowingly allows a person in the country illegally to reside in HUD-supported housing.

These rules constitute more than a mere functional necessity for law and order; they are a moral necessity for any nation that takes care of its own vulnerable citizens. After all, public assistance is paid for and subsidized by taxpayer dollars.

But these crucial rules are easily skirted by a loophole that lets people in the country illegally who are living with qualified residents declare themselves “ineligible.” This means they do not have their immigration status checked, and they continue to live in taxpayer-funded housing.

If members of Congress do not like how the law is being enforced, then they should change the law. Until that happens, federal agencies, like HUD, should continue to do its own constitutional duty and enforce the laws as written by Congress.

Today, to assist agencies in the enforcement of existing – and binding – law, legal status can be easily verified through a fast, secure, and efficient screening, using the SAVE system of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. This screening process is already used by one-third of public housing agencies and needs only to be expanded to end the “illegible” loophole.

To this end, last week, HUD unveiled a proposal that would require all residents living in HUD-supported housing who are under the age of 62 to be screened through the SAVE system. It is a simple, egalitarian amendment that promises to restore proper enforcement and accountability to supplement the spirit of existing law.

As a result, the new measure HUD has championed is a meaningful step toward protecting our nation’s forgotten men and women and promoting the rule of law. There is no legitimate reason – or any excuse – to keep hundreds of thousands of American families waiting in line, when a lifeline could be extended instead.”

Joy Behar, who somehow still has a show on a major network, went into full Trump and Trump supporter bashing mode today.

Thankfully, Dan Crenshaw was on set to shut her down. Look, Trump ran on having better relations with Russia, many forget that, and it may be impossible. It may be that Putin is a thug and Trump will get nowhere.

But it is Trump’s job to try. Trump has cracked down harder than Obama by giving Ukraine the lethal weapons Obama would not, and he has kept and increased sanctions.

But he plays nice in public because what is the other option? Insult Putin? Trump is playing the long game and offering Putin a few carrots as well as showing him a big stick.

From Fox News: “The View” co-host Joy Behar said on Monday that Republicans who support President Trump should take off “those flag pins” because the president’s behavior regarding Russian meddling is “unpatriotic.”

Behar was speaking with Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, who explained that he doesn’t necessarily support Trump’s “character flaws” and reminded viewers that he has personally called for civility in the past. But the anti-Trump daytime talk show star declared that Trump’s issues go beyond insulting rivals.

“It isn’t just that. Let’s talk about, you know, the fact that he met with Putin for 90 minutes… and never once brought up the fact that Russia, Russia interfered in our election,” Behar said. “And he never brought it up. How is it that the Republican Party, your colleagues, can stand by this man when he is involved in this way with Russia?”

Behar continued: “I said last week I don’t want to see any of those flag pins anymore on Republicans who don’t stand up against this guy for Russian meddling, and other things that he’s done. It seems as though he’s unpatriotic. What do you say to that?”

Crenshaw told Behar she was “overstating it” and said the specific conversation was regarding Venezuela.

“I will give you this. The president has a bad habit of repeating what Putin says to the public,” Crenshaw conceded. “He shouldn’t do that. But he also has a pretty good habit of taking actions and putting policies in place that are vehemently counter-Russia.”

Lindsey Graham just disarmed Nancy Pelosi – he took her best weapon in the coming impeachment battle with Trump right out of the Democrat’s hands.

Look, Trump has been criminally cleared of all charges, but politically he has not. The Democrats would be wise to learn from history and avoid a losing impeachment effort.

But the left smells blood in the water and think they have a winning argument: just because Trump’s team did not follow through because they knew Trump was just venting, Trump is not in the clear.

In other words, thought crimes and now a thing in Washington and we have entered a dystopian novel. Enter Lindsey to bring everyone back to reality.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said Sunday that he doesn’t care if President Trump told former White House counsel Don McGahn to fire special counsel Robert Mueller.

“I don’t care what they talked about. He didn’t do anything. The point is the president did not impede Mueller from doing his investigation,” Graham said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” when host Margaret Brennan noted that, according to the special counsel’s report, Trump in 2017 ordered McGahn to fire Mueller.

“I don’t care what happened between him and Don McGahn,” Graham continued. “Here’s what I care about: Was Mueller allowed to do his job? And the answer is yes.”

A redacted version of Mueller’s report, released earlier this month, detailed several episodes in which Trump potentially obstructed justice during Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s election interference.

The report states that McGahn refused when Trump ordered him to fire Mueller and that McGahn decided “he would resign rather than trigger what he regarded as a potential Saturday Night Massacre.”

Trump last week denied ordering McGahn to fire Mueller, saying that if he wanted to fire the special counsel, he would have done so himself.

“As has been incorrectly reported by the Fake News Media, I never told then White House Counsel Don McGahn to fire Robert Mueller, even though I had the legal right to do so,” Trump tweeted. “If I wanted to fire Mueller, I didn’t need McGahn to do it, I could have done it myself.”

White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney just made his move to checkmate Nancy Pelosi and end the unprecedented presidential harassment of Donald Trump.

The Democrats have come up empty with multiple attempts to overturn the last election and now seem ready to go over the cliff with new ones that will anger the American people.

Look, we don’t use government institutions to attack our political opponents and if we start, we may never be able to turn back the clock.

From Fox News: Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney told “Fox News Sunday” in an exclusive interview that Democrats will “never” see President Trump’s tax returns, days after a House Democrat committee chairman made the unprecedented demand that the IRS provide the documents.

Mulvaney’s comments marked an apparent escalation in the White House’s rhetoric on the issue. On Wednesday, Trump responded with a dismissive taunt to Democrats’ renewed push for his tax information, but suggested he might be willing to provide the information pending the conclusion of an audit.

“Oh no, never — nor should they,” Mulvaney told Bill Hemmer, who is filling in for host Chris Wallace, when asked if Democrats will ever see the president’s tax returns. “That’s an issue that was already litigated during the election. Voters knew the president could have given his tax returns. They knew that he didn’t and they elected him anyway.”

Mulvaney added that Democrats “know” they won’t get the returns, and “just want attention on the issue because they don’t want to talk to us about policy.” A “fundamental” purpose of tax law, Mulvaney continued, is to protect the privacy of tax filers.

“If they don’t get what they want in the Mueller report, they’re going to ask for the taxes,” Mulvaney said. “If they don’t get what they want in the taxes, they’re going to ask for something else. It doesn’t surprise anybody.”

“They know one of the fundamental principles of the IRS is to protect the confidentiality of you and me and everybody else who files taxes. They know that,” Mulvaney said. “They know the terms under law by which the IRS can give them the documents, but political hit job is not one of those reasons.”

Separately, Mulvaney charged that Democrats suffer from “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and were “blindsided” by Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s findings that the Trump team had not colluded illegally with Russia.

Mulvaney also sounded a critical note on the 2020 Democrat presidential field, telling Hemmer “it’s fun watching them implode,” and that the party’s leading candidates seem to want to “Make America Apologize Again” on an array of issues.

Lindsey Graham and Chuck Grassley issued a blistering rebuke to the Mueller investigation and the nefarious ways the Mueller investigation was handled.

Look, we all know something was wrong from day 1 with the whole witch hunt and while Trump is in the clear, Congress must make sure this never happens again.

That this letter is just leaking now, which is curious timing and may very well spell doom for Hillary Clinton and whoever else was involved in the hoax of the century.

From Fox News: In a March 8 letter, Grassley and Graham referred Barr to a letter sent to Mueller in late 2017 that alleged his investigators had cherry-picked details from emails to include in court documents, urging him to review the materials. They also notified him that they had asked DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz a year earlier to review the original FBI probe.

“The glaring lack of [context] feeds speculation and innuendo that distorts the facts,” Grassley wrote at the time.

In their March letter to Barr, Grassley and Graham pointed specifically to emails quoted in the Statement of Offense against former Trump adviser George Papadopoulos.

That court filing said Papadopoulos emailed another campaign official in May 2016 with the subject line, “Request from Russia to meet Mr. Trump.”

The document said the email stated that Russia “has been eager to meet Mr. Trump for quite sometime and have been reaching out to me to discuss,” adding in a footnote that the official forwarded the email to another campaign official asking to discuss: “We need someone to communicate that DT is not doing these trips. It should be someone low level in the campaign so as not to send any signal.”

The senators said media outlets then seized on the fragments to report a “Campaign official suggested ‘low level’ staff should go to Russia.” However, they said the full emails — obtained from the Trump campaign — tell a different story.

“In full context, the emails in question actually show that the Trump Campaign wanted someone ‘low level’ to decline these types of invitations,” Grassley and Graham wrote in the letter to Barr.

The senators added: “Another citation was reported by some news outlets as evidence that the campaign, notably Papadopoulos and Sam Clovis, encouraged personnel to meet with the Russians.”

This line in the original court document said that a campaign supervisor (later identified as Clovis) told Papadopoulos “I would encourage you” and another adviser to “make the trip” if possible, with regard to a meeting with Russians.

The senators wrote, however, that “additional context shows that Papadopoulos had conversations with representatives from multiple governments, not just Russia, and that Clovis had opposed any trip to Russia for Mr. Trump and the campaign.”

Meanwhile, in late February of last year, Graham and Grassley also sent a letter to Horowitz requesting that his office look into “potential improper political influence, misconduct, and mismanagement” of the counterintelligence and criminal investigations into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia before Mueller’s appointment.

“The referral was based in part on materially inconsistent statements reportedly made by Christopher Steele, the author of the anti-Trump dossier funded by the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign during the 2016 presidential election,” their letter to Barr states.

It continues: “The documents we have reviewed also raise questions about the role Bruce Ohr, a senior Justice Department official whose wife worked for Fusion GPS, had in passing allegations from Steele and Fusion GPS to the FBI after the FBI had terminated Mr. Steele as a source.”

Most people don’t know that Jerry Nadler and President Trump go way back. Nadler, then known as fat jerry was a local politician and he fought Trump on nearly everything.

Trump, trying to bring jobs and prosperity to New York, hated when these low-level politicians blocked progress.

They needed to be greased to make things happen, which is why Trump holds them in such disdain.

Today, Nadler is leading the inquisition of Trump so Fox News did some digging and exposed him as another political hypocrite.

From Fox News:

House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Doug Collins (R-Ga.) said Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) engaged in the “dictionary [definition of] hypocrisy” when he called Tuesday for the Mueller report to be released in full.

Nadler, along with fellow Democratic committee chairs Richie Neal (Mass.), Maxine Waters (Calif.), Adam Schiff (Calif.), Elijah Cummings (Md.) and Eliot Engel (N.Y.) warned the DOJ of forthcoming subpoenas for the full Mueller report on alleged Trump collusion.

“It’s amazing to see right now… when you have your dreams come crashing down,” Collins said.

Bill Hemmer played video from a 1998 PBS interview in which Nadler blasted calls for the release of then-Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr’s “Whitewater” report.

Starr had been appointed to investigate President Clinton and others in regard to an Arkansas land deal, and ended up discovering the Monica Lewinsky affair.

In the interview with Charlie Rose, Nadler said it was “a matter of decency and protecting people’s privacy rights” not to release the Whitewater report.

“It represents statements [made by witnesses] that may or may not be true… [and is] unfair to release,” he said.

Collins said that is a stark contrast to the Manhattan Democrat’s current demand to Attorney General Bill Barr.

Collins remarked that Nadler and his Democratic brethren may just be facing a “base problem” because they don’t want to tell the voters that “they don’t have anything to tear down [Donald Trump].”
