On Wednesday, first lady Melania Trump announced that Barron Trump had tested positive for COVID-19.

Nearly two weeks ago on Oct. 1, President Donald Trump and the first lady announced they had both tested positive for the disease. The positive tests for the president and the first lady came just hours after the White House announced that senior aide Hope Hicks had come down with the virus after traveling with the president several times in the prior week.

Now, it appears that the president’s son had contracted the virus as well.

In a White House statement published Wednesday, Melania Trump explained what contracting the disease was like and how it affected her and her family.

“To all who have reached out – thank you. Here is my personal experience with COVID-19,” the first lady tweeted out along with the link to the White House statement.

Melania Trump’s statement, which reads like a personal essay, detailed her worst fears coming true when her son, Barron, tested positive for the disease.

“Naturally my mind went immediately to our son. To our great relief he tested negative, but again, as so many parents have thought over the past several months, I couldn’t help but think ‘what about tomorrow or the next day?’” she wrote.

“My fear came true when he was tested again and it came up positive.”

Melania confirmed that Barron thankfully “exhibited no symptoms.”

“He has since tested negative,” she wrote.

She went on to describe what her symptoms were like back when she had the coronavirus.

“I was very fortunate as my diagnosis came with minimal symptoms, though they hit me all at once and it seemed to be a roller coaster of symptoms in the days after. I experienced body aches, a cough and headaches, and felt extremely tired most of the time. I chose to go a more natural route in terms of medicine, opting more for vitamins and healthy food,” the first lady wrote.

“We had wonderful caretakers around us and we will be forever grateful for the medical care and professional discretion we received from Dr. [Sean] Conley and his team. It was an unfamiliar feeling for me to be the patient instead of a person trying to encourage our nation to stay healthy and safe. It was me being taken care of now, and getting first-hand experience with all that COVID-19 can do.

“As the patient, and the person benefitting from so much medical support, I found myself even more grateful and in awe of caretakers and first responders everywhere. To the medical staff and the residence staff who have been taking care of our family — thank you doesn’t say enough.”

Melania ended the statement with a message for ordinary Americans.

“I am happy to report that I have tested negative and hope to resume my duties as soon as I can. Along with this good news, I want people to know that I understand just how fortunate my family is to have received the kind of care that we did. If you are sick, or if you have a loved one who is sick — I am thinking of you and will be thinking of you every day,” she wrote.

“I pray for our country and I pray for everyone who is grappling with COVID-19 and any other illnesses or challenges. Thank you to everyone who reached out, and offered well wishes and prayers for our family. You remain in ours as well.”

In today’s America, left-wing politics have infected everything.

Sports, movies, television shows; there isn’t any pastime left for Americans to enjoy without the constant reminder that they’re a horrible person unless they vote for former Vice President Joe Biden in November.

Not even children’s games are safe anymore.

On Sept. 1, the Biden campaign announced its partnership with “Animal Crossing: New Horizons,” a popular video game that, though played by teens and adults too, is geared largely toward children.

Players will now be able to choose from a series of campaign logos that can be used in the game to decorate the yards of their virtual homes and more, according to MarketWatch.

Among the items available on Biden’s official campaign website are a “Biden-Harris” logo, a “Team Joe” logo, and a “Joe Pride” logo featuring LGBT pride colors.

Promoting the virtual political insignia are game avatars of Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris — though it’s difficult to say what picture was referenced when creating Biden’s avatar.

Christian Tom, director of digital partnerships for the Biden campaign, said in a statement that the move is “an exciting new opportunity for our campaign to engage and connect Biden-Harris supporters as they build and decorate their islands.”

“’Animal Crossing’ is a dynamic, diverse, and powerful platform that brings communities together from across the world.”

Though the Trump campaign has not officially created items for use in the game, pro-Trump players have created their own custom MAGA gear including yard signs, hats and t-shirts.

According to CNN, there are currently dozens more “Trump” and “MAGA” designs created by players than designs for Biden.

While the Biden campaign continues its attempt to reach voters through children’s games and virtual interviews, President Donald Trump is traveling the country to speak to and connect with voters in person.

Trump campaign deputy national press secretary Samantha Zager pointed out the difference between the two candidates during an interview with CNN.

“This explains everything: Joe Biden thinks he’s campaigning for President of Animal Crossing from his basement,” she said.

“The Trump campaign will continue to spend its resources campaigning in the real world with real Americans.”

Speaking on Night Three of the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, former NFL player Jack Brewer blasted the media narrative that Donald Trump once called white supremacists “very fine people.”

The narrative Brewer addressed involves Trump’s response to the infamous Charlottesville Unite the Right Rally in 2017.

Some protesters at the rally were protesting the removal of a statue, while others were members of antifa, neo-Nazis and white supremacists.

Although the White House transcript of Trump’s remarks revealed that the president fully condemned all of the white supremacists present, the media and Joe Biden have addressed those comments as though Trump was calling the white supremacists themselves “very fine people.”

Brewer addressed the Charlottesville comments and the media coverage of them. He was speaking at the RNC despite being removed from the list of speakers due to recent insider trading charges, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.

He began by pleading with the American people to stop letting their distaste for Trump blind them from seeing the truth.

“At some point, for the sake of our children, the policies must take priority over the personalities,” Brewer said. “So because you have an issue with President Trump’s tone, you’re going to allow Biden and Harris to deny our underserved black and brown children school choice?”

“Are we so offended by the president’s campaign slogan ‘Make America Great Again’ that we’re going to ignore that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have collectively been responsible for locking up countless black men for non-violent crimes?”

Brewer then blasted the media for its coverage of Charlottesville.

“Are you going to allow the media to lie to you by falsely claiming that he said there are ‘very fine’ white supremacists in Charlottesville?” Brewer asked.

“He didn’t say that. It’s a lie.”

On August 12, Biden disseminated the false narrative on Twitter.

“Three years ago today, white supremacists descended on Charlottesville with torches in hand and hate in their hearts. Our president said they were ‘very fine people,’” Biden wrote.

“It was clear then, and it’s clear now: We are in a battle for the soul of our nation, and we must win.”

A closer look at the White House transcript of Trump’s comments reveal that he did, in fact, denounce the white supremacists in Charlottesville.

“You had some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides,” Trump said then. “You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.

“And you had people — and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists — because they should be condemned totally. But you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists. OK? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly.”

When asked if he meant the media was treating white nationalists unfairly, Trump further clarified he in no way supported their actions.

“No, no. There were people in that rally — and I looked the night before — if you look, there were people protesting very quietly the taking down of the statue of Robert E. Lee. I’m sure in that group there were some bad ones. The following day it looked like they had some rough, bad people — neo-Nazis, white nationalists, whatever you want to call them,” Trump explained.

“But you had a lot of people in that group that were there to innocently protest, and very legally protest — because I don’t know if you know, they had a permit. The other group didn’t have a permit. So I only tell you this: There are two sides to a story. I thought what took place was a horrible moment for our country — a horrible moment. But there are two sides to the country.”

The Charlottesville lie surfaced again last week at the Democratic National Convention, when Biden — echoing his tweet from a few days earlier — repeated the falsehood in a speech.

President Donald Trump’s never been a fan of anthem kneeling.

If the National Football League decides to fully support the Black Lives Matter movement upon its return to play, he’ll no longer be a fan of the NFL, either.

During a Tuesday morning interview with Outkick’s Clay Travis, Trump said that while he wants the NFL to return, if the league decides to disrespect the flag, he would rather that they don’t come back.

“Mr. President, what do you hear about the NFL? I know there’s been a lot of talk, you mentioned that you talked to several different owners, [New England Patriots owner] Bob Kraft in particular, how confident are you that come September 10, with the scheduled opener between the Texans and the Chiefs, that the NFL will be underway and everybody out there who is an NFL fan will be able to watch?” Travis asked the president.

“Well, they want to open and they want to open badly and they’ve been working with government,” Trump responded. “I would say this, if they don’t stand for the national anthem, I hope they don’t open.

“But other than that I’d love to see them open and we’re doing everything possible for getting them open. They can protest in other ways, they shouldn’t protest our flag or our country.”

Travis then asked whether Trump has spoken with owners about his desire for players to stand for the national anthem. Trump responded with a chuckle.

“They know my feelings very well,” he said. “They’ve been expressed.”

The president went on to condemn other sports leagues for adopting former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s disrespectful form of protesting.

“I think it’s been horrible for basketball. Look at the basketball ratings they’re down. They’re down to very low numbers. Very, very low numbers. People are angry about it. They don’t realize … they have enough politics with guys like me,” Trump told Travis.

He praised ice hockey, which has largely avoided the controversy, but Trump also took a swing at Major League Baseball.

“I did not like what baseball did, even a little bit. And again, you have to stand for your flag and you have to respect your flag and your country. You’re making millions of dollars a year to be playing a sport you’d be playing anyway …

“They have to respect their country and if they don’t, frankly, if the NFL didn’t open, I’d be very happy, if they don’t stand for the flag and stand strongly. I would be very happy if they didn’t open. … With that being said, I’d love to see them open.”

The interview is below. The NFL segment runs from about the 2:30 mark to the 4:45

Attitudes on kneeling for the anthem have changed greatly since Colin Kaepernick first decided to protest the supposed prevalence of race-based police brutality.

The Marxist Black Lives Matter movement seems to have taken hold of the sports world, with more and more players deciding to throw in their lot with the anti-American leftists who seek to destroy the foundational institutions of American society.

Thankfully, Trump isn’t the only American who is sick and tired of privileged players disrespecting the anthem all for a cause based on lies.

Ratings for the NBA and MLB plummeted after the two leagues began their social justice pandering on returning from the coronavirus lockdown.

Similarly, the NFL ratings dropped precipitously back in 2018 when anthem kneeling was first becoming a thing.

If sports leagues want to play this game, they are going to have to deal with the fact that consumers aren’t going to choose to watch a bunch of virtue-signaling millionaires preaching about how America is a racist country.
