As reported by my RedState colleague streiff, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, Iran’s top nuclear scientist, was ambushed and killed on Friday. The assassination of Fakhrizadeh, accused of leading the Islamic Republic’s nuclear weapons program, sent shockwaves through Iran and elsewhere around the world, including in the U.S. — which we’ll get to in a bit.

As reported on Sunday by the New York Post, who drew from multiple sources, a highly trained hit squad of 62 people attacked Fakhrizadeh’s 3-car caravan after the local power supply was cut in an effort to slow the spread of information about the ambush.

Sources told leading Iranian journalist Mohamad Ahwaze that the team included 50 people providing “logistical support” for the 12 assassins who carried out the ambush. Iranian officials insisted that Israel was behind the ambush — with good cause. As reported by the New York Times on Friday, an unidentified U.S. official and two unidentified intelligence officials confirmed that Israel was responsible for the attack.

This comes as no surprise, given that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a 2018 news conference said of Fakhrizadeh: “Remember that name.” Here’s unconfirmed footage from the scene of the assassination of the “father of the Iranian bomb.”

Ahwaze tweeted that “all involved had entered special training courses, as well as security and intelligence services abroad,” as translated by ELINT News — now a dead link.

“The team knew exactly the date and course of the movement of the Fakhrizadeh protection convoy in the smallest details.”

Details, as provided by The Post:

Fakhrizadeh was traveling in the middle of three bulletproof cars, with the killers striking after the first car entered a roundabout, the report said. A booby-trapped Nissan was then detonated to block the car behind Fakhrizadeh — as 12 gunmen pounced on him, arriving in a Hyundai Santa Fe and four motorbikes, Ahwaze tweeted.

Ahwaze said Fakhrizadeh was dragged out of his car and shot, to make sure he was dead.

“After the car bomb was detonated, 12 operatives opened fire towards Fakhrizadeh’s car and the first protection vehicle. According to Iranian leaks, the leader of the assassination team took Fakhrizadeh out of his car and shot him and made sure he was killed.”

Needless to say, the assassination of Fakhrizadeh, whom Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called “the country’s prominent and distinguished nuclear and defensive scientist,” kicked up the tension meter between Iran and Israel a notch or ten.

Khamenei said Iran’s first priority was the “definitive punishment of the perpetrators and those who ordered it.” I wouldn’t be surprised if Bibi Netanyahu, upon hearing Khamenei’s threat, thought to himself: “Bring it, ayatollah; let’s get this thing over with once and for all.”

Meanwhile, back in the U.S., the usual suspects reacted in their usual anti-American way.

John Brennan, the reprehensible former CIA director, led the hang-wringing parade against the assassination of Fakhrizadeh — only to be ripped to shreds by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), as reported by my RedState colleague Nick Arama on Saturday.

Here’s a little bit of how that went.

Brennan always seems like such a pleasant fellow, right? The kind of guy with whom you’d like to belly up to a bar, drink a few beers, and spew venom about America, nonstop.

In response to President Trump in January ordering the military strike that killed terrorist mastermind Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani, Brennan blasted the president:

“This was a criminal act and highly reckless. It risks lethal retaliation and a new round of regional conflict.”

Poor Johnny is 0-2 in “assassinations of evil terrorists who would love nothing more than to strike at the heart of America.” Meanwhile, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh joined Qassem Soleimani in hell wherever he might be. Do Iranian terrorists do that 72-virgins thing? You know, like ISIS terrorists do? Not sure. Then again, 72 virgin “whats“? Very confusing.

Welcome to the new definition of “morality” in America, America.

At least in the eyes of a Rhode Island college professor — and many Leftists across the country who believe as he does — there is nothing “morally” wrong with the targeted murder of a Trump supporter.

Let that sink in, before we continue.

Got it? Me, too.

As reported by Campus Reform, University of Rhode Island Professor Erik Loomis defended the murder of Patriot Prayer group member Aaron “Jay” Danielson during unrest in Portland earlier this month by Michael Reinoehl, who admitted in an interview he shot Danielson.

Reinoehl was killed by federal authorities after he brandished a firearm as they attempted to arrest him.

In a blog post titled “Why Was Michael Reinoehl Killed?” Loomis defended — and justified — Reinoehl’s murder of Danielson:

“Michael Reinoehl is the guy who killed the fascist in Portland last week. He admitted it and said he was scared the cops would kill him. Well, now the cops have killed him. I am extremely anti-conspiracy theory.

“But it’s not a conspiracy theory at this point in time to wonder if the cops simply murdered him. The police is [sic] shot through with fascists from stem to stern. They were openly working with the fascists in Portland, as they were in Kenosha which led to dead protestors.”

Loomis included a tweet from historian Manisha Sinha, whom he described as “hardly a conspiracy theorist herself.”

In the comment section of the blog post, Loomis was challenged by a reader who wrote: “Erik, he shot and killed a guy.”

Loomis shot back:

“He killed a fascist. I see nothing wrong with it, at least from a moral perspective. Tactically, that’s a different story. But you could say the same thing about John Brown.”

Abolitionist John Brown — of “John Brown’s Body” fame — used violence as a means of fighting slavery in the 1800s.

Another commenter on the blog post asked: “What’s so great about assassinating a rando fascist? And in the absence of a sound affirmative justification, it should be easy to envision the drawbacks.”

Loomis loved it, responding: “What’s so great about assassinating random slaveholders, said liberals to John Brown.”

“The problem with violence, he wrote, “is that it usually, though not always, is a bad idea. That I agree with.”

So when is violence a good idea, according to Loomis?

“Sometimes violence is necessary, say to avoid greater physical harm, i.e. self-defense, or to defeat a literal army of fascists who are trying to kill people.

“But, ideologically, I think the idea that violence is good if it’s against our political enemies is a core part of fascism, and so the ideological opposition to that idea should be its opposite — that violence as a general rule is bad, unless the specific context of that situation requires a violent response.”

Translation: Violence is a “good” idea when used by the Left in its incessant drive to destroy America as we know it.

This is who the Virulent Angry Left is, America. The VALs hate you and everything you represent. And they will do anything they can to destroy you — including kill you, as Loomis so “eloquently” points out.

In a related note, Loomis on Tuesday suggested Republicans stopped caring about COVID once they “figured out” the pandemic was going to “disproportionately affect people of color.”

This is how insane this guy is.

Notice that Loomis was responding to an equally-ridiculous tweet from fellow wing nut, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes?

In defense of his tinfoil hat conspiracy theory, Loomis wrote:

“It’s hilarious that this obviously correct statement is what the fascists are attacking me over. I mean, if you want to go after me, I’ve got much better material for you.”

The bottom line:

The “obviously correct statement” is that Leftist loons like Erik Loomis are lost. Meaning, there is no saving them from themselves and their obsessive and bitter hatred of all things America; it eats them alive.

The hope lies within those who refuse to fall victim to the Left’s incendiary poison and the irrationality they spew. While it appears easy to resist — to those of us who find it easy to resist, that is — the danger lies with those who gradually succumb to the insanity.

The Left knows that. As the old adage goes, “How do you eat an elephant?” “One bite at a time.” Don’t take that first bite, folks. Ever.

Now that Kamala Harris is the Democrat vice presidential nominee, voters on all sides of the political spectrum will have a chance — like it or not —to learn more about her positions on any number of issues.

One of those issues is abortion. More specifically, late-term abortion. Or as liberals prefer to call it, “women’s reproductive health.”

Kamala Harris has never been shy about her support for late-term abortion. Now, following the resurfacing of a 2018 tweet in which she advocated against a ban on abortions beyond 20 weeks, parents are responding with pictures of their own children at 20 weeks.

In January, 2018, Harris tweeted a rallying call to the late-term abortion faithful, urging defeat of 20-week abortion ban legislation.

“We must keep fighting to defend and expand on the progress made for women’s rights and reproductive health, not pass a 20-week abortion ban. Add your name if you agree.”

Harris’s ridiculous false assertion that protecting “women’s rights and reproductive health” is mutually-inclusive with protecting the “right” to abort 20-week-old — and older — babies is obscene.

Reality: They are mutually-exclusive issues, disingenuously packaged by the Left to attempt to “sanitize” the reality of abortion.

Here’s what Mayo Clinic has to say about 20-week fetal development.

Week 20: The halfway point
Halfway into your pregnancy, or 18 weeks after conception, you might be able to feel your baby’s movements (quickening). Your baby is regularly sleeping and waking. He or she might be awakened by noises or your movements.

By now your baby might be about 6 1/3 inches (160 millimeters) long from crown to rump and weigh more than 11 ounces (320 grams).

At week 21, according to Mayo Clinic, the sucking reflex is developing, enabling “your baby” to suck his or her thumb.

When Harris’s 2018 tweet resurfaced over the weekend, parents responded with a few tweets of their own.

Brady didn’t include a picture, but he did describe the excitement he and his wife share as they await the birth of their third daughter.

“It was amazing to see our baby’s heartbeat, hands and fingers, feet and toes, and constant movement. I can’t wait to meet our third girl in 20 short weeks.”

And this incredible picture from Live Action:

Courtney was born at 21 weeks old.

Finally, and this one is tough, from Joshua.

This is 19 weeks, does this look like a lump of blood, a lifeless or inanimate object?
I bet you wouldn’t be here if ur parents support or did this EVIL you’re advocating for.
America(world) under your watch would be more pervert than it already is. Thank God it wouldn’t happen.

The reality of Kamala Harris is this, as reported by The Federalist:

Harris is a longtime pro-abortion activist with a long congressional record supporting the movement. She voted against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and was a co-sponsor of the Women’s Health Protection Act, which allows abortions without bans.

Harris has also notably called for Congress to pass a law affirming the Roe v. Wade ruling in 1973.

Harris even received an informal endorsement from Planned Parenthood Action on Twitter.

Granted, Harris is only #2 on the Democrat presidential ticket totem pole — although arguably the most significant veep selection in 76 years; Franklin Delano Roosevelt tapped Harry Truman as his running mate in 1944, and the rest is history, as they say.

So where does the lead sled dog stand on abortion? Glad you asked. My RedState colleague Brandon Morse answered that question in March:

Or should I say Biden answered it perfectly in March — as only Biden can do? From Brandon’s piece:

During last night’s debate against Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, Biden’s faith as a Catholic didn’t seem to be a factor in his stances as he bragged about his rating from NARAL, as well as his reaffirmation that abortions should be a taxpayer-funded venture.

NARAL Pro-Choice (Pr0-Abortion) America proudly proclaims on its website: “Freedom is for EVERYBODY.

This is of course utter nonsense — and a baldfaced lie. By “every body,” NARAL, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and the majority of the Democrat party mean: “every body that survives birth without being aborted.”

Tough language, on my part? Sure. Tough subject? Without a doubt.

Donald Trump’s former White House communications director — he lasted just 11 days — Anthony “The Mooch” Scaramucci was filleted by Fox News host Steve Hilton on Sunday during a fiery interview, which one “interested viewer” described as “taken apart.”

That interested viewer filleted The Mooch, as well.

“Scaramucci, who just made a fool of himself as he got taken apart by Steve Hilton, only lasted 11 days in his favorite of all time Administration, before being fired for, again, making a fool of himself. Anthony is a loser who begged to come back. I said “No Thanks.”

Scaramucci later fired back.

The fiery festivities began after Scaramucci, who in June teamed up with other former Trump and Bush officials to form a pro-Biden super PAC, criticized Trump for “essentially failing at every turn in the White House,” also telling Hilton there is now a need to “re-engineer” the entire Republican Party — post-Trump, of course.

A few of Scaramucci’s “highlights,” as reported by Fox News.

“Number one, the economy is upside down. You had 13% unemployment for the African American community.”

“Number two, he’s [Trump] politicized the science around the pandemic […]

“[T]he last thing in the most important thing for me, about the Republican Party, we are shrinking, and so in order to expand the tent, we have to reframe and reengineer the Republican Party.”

The segment began to get testy when Hilton pressed Scaramucci on his support for Biden’s positions, particularly those related to the economy, beginning with Biden’s plan to undo Trump’s deregulation agenda.

“Let’s start with regulation, an important issue for every small, business out there for jobs and growth. In 2016 Anthony you said that regulation is crushing growth. Now you want it much higher than it was then. Why?”

Scaramucci, who claims to be an adherent of “the tender side of conservative populism,” responded like any “good Democrat” would respond; by denying he’s said what he’s said, numerous times.

“That’s not what I want,” he fired back. But Hilton persisted:

“But it is because you’re backing Joe Biden who wants that, too. You’re backing those policies. If you don’t want it why are you backing the candidate who supports that?”

Again, Scaramucci did his best TDS-riddled Democrat impersonation; by yet again attacking Trump.

“[T]he way he treats people […] he bullies suburban housewives on his Twitter feed […]

“He is a divider. He divides people. He incenses people. He is creating hate in our democracy.”

The Mooch then accused Trump of “blowing a racist dog whistle,” but Hilton was ready — with a few recent Biden facts.

“You go on about racism [but] you’re now supporting a candidate who keeps saying racist things. He literally just said the other day he thinks Black people are all the same.”

Hilton was referring to Biden’s latest racist gaffe, in which he pretty much suggested “all Blacks think alike.”

“And by the way, what you all know, but most people don’t know, unlike the African American community — with notable exceptions — the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things.

You go to Florida, you find a very different attitude about immigration in certain places than you do when you’re in Arizona. So it’s a very different, a very diverse community.”

The Mooch responded sarcastically, saying: “You’re right. The President has never made any gaffes, he’s never said anything stupid.”

As Scaramucci continued to trash Trump, Hilton pinned him to the mat — the same way you pin all Democrats to the mat — by trying to focus the self-professed “Never-Trumper Republican” on facts.

“You’re all over the place and you talk about politics because you don’t want to talk about the policy.”

But Mooch went right back to Trump-trashing, after first saying how he and his fellow Never-Trumpers want to “re-knit” the Republican Party.

“I’m looking at my millennial children and I’m looking about how we are going to re-knit the party so we can make that an all-inclusive party and the principles of that party.

“What we are doing right now, we’ve destroyed the economy, we are dividing the people, we are racially charging, that’s not going to work.”

“I’m playing the long game,” he said.

Whatever that “long game” is or becomes, Donald Trump, for one, will undoubtedly continue to remind “The Mooch” what a “loser” he is — and always will be — every step of the way.
