It would really have been better for Joe Biden to just sit out the pandemic. But since he keeps trying to be relevant, he did a town hall yesterday about unemployment and issues facing workers.

During the town hall, he hilariously tried to claim he was a “foreign policy expert.”

He was supposed to be responding to a woman who just lost her job about how she would be able to keep the healthcare coverage that she had.

From Townhall:

“As you and I have talked about this, senator, I’m always talked about as being a foreign policy expert, healthcare is more complicated than foreign policy,” he told Nevada state Sen. Yvanna Cancela, who moderated the event. “Healthcare is complicated. It really is daunting for an awful lot of people.”

Foreign policy expert? Really? Not only has no one ever said that, but Robert Gates, who served as President Obama’s Defense Secretary, said he was wrong on everything. “I think he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades,” Gates wrote in his book, “Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary at War.”

Asked again about his comment by CBS “Face The Nation” host Margaret Brennan, Gates said he stood by that assessment.

This is the guy Democrats are putting forward? The guy who has difficulty putting a coherent sentence together anymore, much less foreign policy?

The is also the man Politico described as being known for gaffes for thirty years. The Obama administration had to issue an apology for Biden’s remarks during the swine flu pandemic that almost caused a panic and could have hurt the transportation industry. “These sorts of comments are what the Obama administration fears from Biden, who after more than three decades in Washington is known for making gaffes,” Politico observed in their account of the event.

Media used to be honest about their assessment of Joe Biden until he became their only hope against President Donald Trump. Now they’re just trying to paper all that over in the hope that everyone forgets and they can push him to the presidency.

Media and some Democrats have been going all-in on their attack on President Donald Trump for having the temerity for talking about the potential benefits of hydroxychloroquine for the Wuhan coronavirus.

CNN’s Brian Stelter flipped out on him on Sunday, calling promoting the drug “dangerous”, and Rep. Tavia Galonski, an Ohio state representative and Joe Biden adviser, said she’d had “enough” and was going to file a complaint against him at The Hague for “crimes against humanity.”

Meanwhile, outside of that insanity, the FDA has approved it for other uses for decades and has approved it for emergency use for the virus. Moreover, a global study of 6227 doctors listed it as their “most effective therapy” so far.

Now, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is adding to that positive view, according to his remarks in The Hill, about the trials they are running in NYC.

They have thousands of people taking it in the controlled trials.

While he noted that they needed to have a further period of study for the official data to come in, he noted that anecdotally, they were finding it had been effective.

Asked about the progress of the trials at his daily press briefing, Cuomo noted that state officials have allowed use of the drug in combination with the antibiotic Zithromax in hospitals “at their discretion.” He said the federal government would increase supplies to New York pharmacies, but that New York has imposed a 14-day limit to protect the supplies for people who rely on it to treat other medical conditions.

“The tests in the hospital, they’re too short a period of time to get a scientific report,” Cuomo said. “Hospital administrators, doctors want to have a significant data set before they give a formal opinion. Anecdotally, you’ll get suggestions that it has been effective. But we don’t have any official data yet from a hospital or a quote-unquote study, which will take weeks if not months.”

“There has been anecdotal evidence that it is promising; that’s why we’re going ahead,” he added, noting that some patients have a pre-existing condition or medication regimen that prevents them from taking it.

Doctors have reported its effectiveness after their prescriptions, although they were obviously not in a controlled clinical trial and that would be “anecdotal.”

From ABC:

Dr. Anthony Cardillo said he has seen very promising results when prescribing hydroxychloroquine in combination with zinc for the most severely-ill COVID-19 patients.

“Every patient I’ve prescribed it to has been very, very ill and within 8 to 12 hours, they were basically symptom-free,” Cardillo told Eyewitness News. “So clinically I am seeing a resolution.”

Cardillo is the CEO of Mend Urgent Care, which has locations in Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys and Burbank.

He said he has found it only works if combined with zinc. The drug, he said, opens a channel for the zinc to enter the cell and block virus replication.

He cautioned against people using it for mild conditions in order to prevent shortages. Other doctors have also reported success with a similar cocktail.

Media and some on the left have again been trying to push a false story about Dr. Anthony Fauci’s position on the matter. What he said is that they can’t make a scientific judgment until more data is in. But that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t prescribe it for those in need. He too would prescribe it, as he said to Chris Stigall, according to a Townhall story on March 25.

“If you’re a doctor listening to me right now and a patient with coronavirus feels like they want to try that,” Stigall asked, “and you’re their doctor, you’re not Anthony Fauci the guy running the coronavirus task force, would you say ‘alright, we’ll give it a whirl’?”

“Yeah, of course, particularly if people have no other option,” Fauci said. “These drugs are approved drugs for other reasons. They’re anti-malaria drugs, and they’re drugs against certain autoimmune diseases like lupus. Physicians throughout the country can prescribe that in an off-label way. Which means they can write it for something it was not approved for.”

Hillary Clinton must be getting antsy in her home because she certainly was concentrated on trying to attack President Donald Trump over the response to the Wuhan coronavirus on Thursday.

First, she tweeted out a picture of nurses allegedly at Mt. Sinai West in New York City allegedly having to wear garbage bags as part of their protective gear.

First, the report Clinton cited suggested that the hospital apparently had an issue with being short on supplies for a year now (in other words, not because of the Wuhan coronavirus) and suggests that supplies were disappearing. It’s not clear how Trump is supposed to be responsible for that and not the hospital who’s supposed to be responsible for their own supply.

Additionally, both the hospital and Governor Cuomo claimed that the hospital had sufficient personal protective equipment for the workers.

Apparently Hillary didn’t feel like she scored enough of a hit with the first story so she tried again, this time with a more pointed attack.

It’s sad, really, that she’s still — four years on — so mad and still so locked up (see what I did there) with anger about losing.

First of all, she’s citing some insane graph pulled out of the air by the NY Times that doesn’t match any reality based on the information we have at this point. 128 million cases by the end of the month? It’s not happening. Secondly, Trump didn’t say he was going to relax strictures in 14 days, he said they were going to look at the end of the month to see where we were in relation to the virus and if they’d felt we’d sufficiently flattened the curve. Then they might look at the concept of isolating the more at-risk people and let some of the rest of us out in a limited fashion.

A president not only has to look at the medical question but also the economic questions and the huge damage to American lives as well, to jobs that might never come back. So it’s a fine balancing act.

But Trump did not set a 14-day deadline and say everything was going to reopen.

So, not only is Hillary misrepresenting that, she’s trying to tell Trump how to do his job, bitter that she will never have that job.

But how fortunate that is for us.

One of the most shameful things surrounding the Wuhan virus is how the Democrats, since word of the virus hitting our shores, have, instead of pulling together, have used it to try to attack the president and stoke panic while President Donald Trump was working to address the question and calm people.

Democrats including Joe Biden have lied about Trump saying it was a hoax. Lied about saying the CDC was cut. Lied about Trump muzzling scientists. Biden even put out an ad including the lies, trying to stoke more angst.

Meanwhile folks like Dr. Drew Pinsky and Dr. Anthony Fauci (for the administration) have been trying to put it into perspective so as not to create panic and do more harm to people.

But that hasn’t stopped those on the left.

So GOP Chair Ronna McDaniel put out a helpful thread to show the difference and call out the Democrats for politicizing things and not being helpful.

Exactly. Many Democrats have been focused on how to attack Trump over the virus, how to politicize it, not how to actually help with the situation. That’s been pretty vile.

The owners of a Mexican restaurant in Arizona faced attack on social media after they were spotted at a Trump rally in Phoenix last week.

Betty Rivas, who owns Sammy’s Mexican Grill with her husband Jorge, was at the rally and that prompted attacks after her picture in a hat with “Latinos for Trump” was posted to a Facebook group.

Leftists then attacked the restaurant with fake bad Yelp and Google reviews.

“Very ugly stuff. They are saying nasty stuff about the restaurant,” owner Jorge Rivas said Friday, a day after he and his wife posted a video on Facebook defending their rights as “naturalized American citizens” to vote, support and meet whomever they please.

“Just because we are Latinos, it doesn’t mean that we have to feel like every other Latino in this country,” Rivas said in the video. “We are individuals and we feel that we have the constitutional right to meet and support whoever we want.”

They also have gotten nasty phone calls.

This isn’t the first time they’ve faced nastiness for their support of Trump, they had a similar problem in 2016 when they also supported Trump. They even some vandalism last time in at their restaurant, in addition to the harassment.

Rivas says the people in the area know them, so it’s not had too big an impact on the restaurant. He said they had a few bad days, but then had a “very good Saturday.” Rivas said it isn’t going to make them change their mind or run them out of business.

On Sunday, they may have gotten a huge boost to the business – an endorsement from the president himself, lending a hand to help.

Now, that’s pretty cool. Going to guess that they get a lot of business from that pretty high placed endorsement.

The Project Veritas expose about ABC that my colleague, Elizabeth Vaughn referenced last night, has dropped.

It sounded like it was going to be good, because even before the video came out this morning, ABC even suspended one of the people who appeared in the video, veteran Washington correspondent, David Wright, who has reported for “World News Tonight,” “Good Morning America” and “Nightline.”

So what was it that prompted such a quick response on their part? Had he done something awful?

Project Veritas taped him while he was covering the Democratic primary in New Hampshire.

He was caught on tape talking about ABC’s refusal to cover the news accurately and saying that they didn’t see “any upside” in actually doing their job and reporting the truth.

From Fox News:

“I feel terrible about it. I feel that the truth suffers, the voters are poorly informed, and people also have the opportunity to tune into whatever they want to hear,” Wright said in the video, which also features an ABC News producer.

“And so, it’s like there’s no upside, or our bosses don’t see an upside in doing the job we’re supposed to do, which is to speak truth to power and hold people accountable.”

Wright then specifically spoke about their coverage of the president, “We don’t hold him to account. We also don’t give him credit for what things he does do.”

According to Wright, ABC and similar places are interested in three things when it comes to Trump. “The outrage of the day, the investigation, and of the palace intrigue of who’s backstabbing whom. Beyond that, we don’t really cover the guy,” Wright said.

So why is this happening? Wright points to the profit motive.

“It became a profit center, a promotion center. Like now, you can’t watch “Good Morning America” without there being a Disney princess or a Marvel Avenger appearing. It’s all self-promotional,” Wright claimed. “The commercial imperative is incompatible with news.”

Wright makes it clear that he’s anti-Trump, describing himself as a socialist, saying he believes in National Health Insurance, he’s “totally fine with reining in corporations,” there are “too many billionaires” and there’s a “wealth gap.” He also referred to Trump by an expletive.

They also had a little coverage of Andy Fies, an ABC News producer, who explained how people in New York are fascinated by how any one can like Donald Trump. But as Fies notes, if they “cross the Hudson now and then” they could hear why, saying “we don’t understand voters.”

Wright did not respond to Fox News’ request for comment. A rep for ABC News told Fox News he would be reassigned after serving his suspension.

“Any action that damages our reputation for fairness and impartiality or gives the appearance of compromising it harms ABC News and the individuals involved,” the rep said. “David Wright has been suspended, and to avoid any possible appearance of bias, he will be reassigned away from political coverage when he returns.”

Translation: they’re punishing him for telling the truth. How about instead of punishing him, change the nature of your reporting back to actually doing objective news? You might actually find a huge market of folks hunger to see that in a news organization again.

While Wright’s a socialist and that tells you a lot about who media has putting out these stories, he’s right, it’s all about what will make money and what will feed the narrative, not about the truth or the news.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has become known for pushing the radical Green New Deal in hyperbolic terms.

From NY Post:

“We’re like, ‘The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change,’ ” the progressive darling said in January, speaking of herself and her fellow millennials. “And, like, this is the war; this is our World War II.”

Last week, she ratcheted up the rhetoric: “It is basically a scientific consensus that the lives of our children are going to be very difficult” due to climate change. “And it does lead young people to have a legitimate question: is it OK to still have children?”

The guiding principle of her eco-vision is to bring about “a full transition off fossil fuels and zero greenhouse gases” within 10 years.

This, of course, would be crazy, impossibly expensive, destroy the economy and cost all kinds of jobs.

But, hey, why let facts and reality enter into it?

And the New York Post pointed out that she hasn’t been practicing what she’s preaching.

She listed 1,049 transactions for Uber, Lyft, Juno and other car services, federal filings show. The campaign had 505 Uber expenses alone.

In all, Ocasio-Cortez spent $29,365.70 on those emissions-spewing vehicles, along with car and van rentals — even though her Queens HQ was a one-minute walk to the 7 train.

The campaign shelled out only $8,335.41 on 52 MetroCard transactions.

This despite the claim from her spokesperson, “Everyone — top to bottom — used the MetroCards.”

And this despite her own criticism of Uber taking business from yellow taxi cabs. Her campaign only billed seven rides to yellow cabs in a year and a half.

By comparison, fellow freshman Rep. Max Rose — whose district is more than twice the size of AOC’s and, like hers, spans two boroughs — listed only 329 transactions for car services, totaling $6,091.29, campaign filings show.

In a district with limited transit options and a $17 Verrazzano Bridge toll, Rose spent only $732 more than AOC on gas and tolls — an indicator of personal car usage.

Ocasio-Cortez was pretty perturbed with the New York Post for daring to actually report on her hypocrisy.

But then the co-founder of Greenpeace Patrick Moore blasted her but good.

But that wasn’t the first time Moore had called her out.

Obviously, Moore is not a fan.
