President Donald Trump stated during the White House Coronavirus Task Force press briefing on Monday that he knows the health status of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.

“I can’t tell you, exactly,” Trump told reporters when asked. “Yes, I do have a very good idea, but I can’t talk about it now. I just wish him well.”

“I hope he’s fine, I do know how he’s doing relatively speaking,” Trump continued. “You will probably be hearing in the not too distant future.”

Later, when asked about a statement that Kim reportedly made over the weekend, Trump responded, “Kim Jong Un made a statement on Saturday? I don’t think so.”

The news comes as the administration has been silent on the rumors that Kim is dealing with a serious health situation.

CNN reported last week:

The US is monitoring intelligence that suggests North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un, is in grave danger after undergoing a previous surgery, according to a US official with direct knowledge.

A second source familiar with the intelligence told CNN that the US has been closely monitoring reports on Kim’s health.

Kim recently missed the celebration of his grandfather’s birthday on April 15, which raised speculation about his well-being. He had been seen four days before that at a government meeting.

Since CNN’s report was published, a variety of rumors and claims have circulated online ranging from theories that is he is fine and is isolating himself due to a coronavirus outbreak in North Korea to theories that he is in a vegetative state.

On Saturday night, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told Fox News’ host Jeanine Pirro that he thinks Kim is either incapacitated or dead.

“Well, it’s a closed society, I don’t know anything directly,” Graham said. “But I’d be shocked if he’s not dead or in some incapacitated state because you don’t let rumors like this go forever or go unanswered in a closed society, which is really a cult, not a country, called North Korea.”

“So I pretty well believe he is dead or incapacitated,” Graham continued. “And I hope the long-suffering North Korean people will get some relief if he is dead, and President Trump’s willing to do business with North Korea in a win-win fashion. So, if this guy is dead, I hope the next person who takes over will work with President Trump to make North Korea a better place for everybody.”

Foreign affairs expert and Asia analyst Gordon Chang told Fox News on Monday: “I don’t think the South Korean government is right when they say he is alive and well. He very well may be alive, but the ‘well’ part of it is, I think, subject to question largely because this regime acts in patterns and when these patterns are broken, we know that something has occurred.”

The Chinese communist government admitted early on Friday that the coronavirus numbers that it had reported in Wuhan, where the outbreak originated, were not accurate.

“China has revised its official count of deaths from the coronavirus, adding some 1,290 deaths in Wuhan, the city where the virus first emerged last December,” Bloomberg News reported. “The addition, reported by state media on Friday, brings the nationwide death toll to 4,636, the majority coming from Hubei province, where Wuhan is located.”

“The additional deaths were all counted in Wuhan and the late reporting of deaths are due to several reasons, said the report,” the report added. “The first is that some patients died at home without seeing a doctor or being tested for the virus as hospitals were overwhelmed during the epidemic’s peak.”

The new numbers being reported by China are still likely to fall well short of the real numbers as The Washington Post estimated during the first week in April that the real number of deaths in Wuhan were 16 times higher than what China reported:

The coronavirus pandemic ravaging the globe officially claimed 2,563 lives in Wuhan, where it began in a market that sold exotic animals for consumption. But evidence emerging from the city as it stirs from its two-month hibernation suggests the real death toll is exponentially higher. …

Using photos posted online, social media sleuths have estimated that Wuhan funeral homes had returned 3,500 urns a day since March 23. That would imply a death toll in Wuhan of about 42,000 — or 16 times the official number. Another widely shared calculation, based on Wuhan’s 84 furnaces running nonstop and each cremation taking an hour, put the death toll at 46,800.

U.S. intelligence officials told Bloomberg News at the start of the month that China intentionally did not report the true numbers of their coronavirus outbreak.

Last month, The Daily Mail reported that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had been briefed that China had significantly under-reported the real numbers of both cases and deaths.

The Daily Mail reported:

Mr Johnson has been warned by scientific advisers that China’s officially declared statistics on the number of cases of coronavirus could be ‘downplayed by a factor of 15 to 40 times’. And No 10 believes China is seeking to build its economic power during the pandemic with ‘predatory offers of help’ countries around the world.

A major review of British foreign policy has been shelved due to the Covid-19 outbreak and will not report until the impact of the virus can be assessed. A Government source close to the review said: ‘It is going to be back to the diplomatic drawing board after this. Rethink is an understatement.’

A “conservative estimation” this week from the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) estimated that even when given every benefit of the doubt possible, China significantly under-reported the number of cases that it had.

“The estimate from AEI resident scholar Derek Scissors, PhD, was included in an article published Monday night in The Wall Street Journal,” The Daily Wire reported. “The estimate found that China had at a minimum 2.9 million coronavirus cases ‘outside Hubei,’ which is the province that Wuhan is located in. Scissors used travel data that was published with the approval of the Chinese Communist Party and then lowered those numbers even further just to give China the benefit of the doubt.”

Scissors wrote:

A natural reaction to figures in the low millions: China is plainly lying but not by nearly that much, because the Communist Party cannot hide 2-3 million cases. Yes, it can. Flu illnesses in the US neared 20 million before the end of January—before COVID-19 was widespread here, with two months left of flu season, and at less than one-fourth China’s population. Chinese respiratory illnesses of all kinds could easily exceed 100 million, hiding 2.9 million COVID-19 cases. …

Mortality remains sadly unsettled, but China’s size would obscure even a high rate. Hubei’s COVID-19 mortality should be quite high, due to the obvious inability to prepare and being initially overwhelmed. It is 4.7 percent. If extended over the rest of China—which is thankfully an exaggeration—that would produce 136,000 deaths over what is now more than three months. In a typical three-month period in ex-Hubei China before COVID-19, nearly 2.5 million people died. Even that many deaths would be easily obscured.

In his concluding remarks, Scissors wrote: “It is the party’s intent that no estimate of Chinese COVID-19 cases can be entirely convincing. Getting to 2.9 million cases starts with information offered by state media, uses the lowest available infection rate, applies days in circulation with a deliberately reduced figure to reflect a superior Chinese virus response, then stirs in the 1.39 billion people. Or you can believe that 1.2 million travelers from ground zero of a pandemic, some freely circulating for weeks, resulted in national contagion of a little over 15,000 cases.”

Japan has earmarked hundreds of billions of yen of its coronavirus stimulus relief to go toward helping its manufacturing companies move their production plants out of communist China and back to Japan or to other countries.

“The extra budget, compiled to try to offset the devastating effects of the pandemic, includes 220 billion yen (US$2 billion) for companies shifting production back to Japan and 23.5 billion yen for those seeking to move production to other countries, according to details of the plan posted online,” Bloomberg News reported. “That has renewed talk of Japanese firms reducing their reliance on China as a manufacturing base. The government’s panel on future investment last month discussed the need for manufacturing of high-added value products to be shifted back to Japan, and for production of other goods to be diversified across Southeast Asia.”

The move comes after communist China lied to the world about the extent of the coronavirus outbreak in their country and tried to cover it up, which led to the outbreak spreading like wildfire throughout China and eventually the rest of the world.

“China is Japan’s biggest trading partner under normal circumstances, but imports from China slumped by almost half in February as the disease closed factories, in turn starving Japanese manufacturers of necessary components,” Bloomberg News added. “Japan exports a far larger share of parts and partially finished goods to China than other major industrial nations, according to data compiled for the panel. A February survey by Tokyo Shoko Research found 37 per cent of the more than 2,600 companies that responded were diversifying procurement to places other than China amid the coronavirus crisis.”

Japan’s moves against communist China likely preview similar action that will be taken by other nations around the world, including the United States, against China.

The Washington Post’s Josh Rogin reported this week:

It’s difficult to gauge — in the middle of the crisis — how exactly the U.S.-China relationship is changing. But everyone senses it will never be the same. Political leaders in Washington and Beijing have put their war of words on hold for the moment. But there is clear evidence that China is planning to use the crisis to its economic and political advantage worldwide.

Inside the Beltway, Republicans attack Democrats, Joe Biden and the media for not being critical enough of the Chinese Communist Party. Democrats attack President Trump for saying “Chinese virus” and attack any Republicans who blame the coronavirus pandemic on the CCP as racist.

Yet a new poll shows that, outside the Beltway, the coronavirus crisis is actually bringing Americans together on the China issue. Republicans and Democrats now largely agree that the Chinese government bears responsibility for the spread of the pandemic, that it can’t be trusted on this or any other issue, and that the U.S. government should maintain a tough position on China on trade and overall, especially if Beijing again falters in its commitments.

The New York Post reported at the start of the week that China allegedly had blocked U.S. manufacturers from being able to export medical safety gear out of the country as the pandemic exploded worldwide.

White House Trade Adviser Peter Navarro indicated late last week that there would be changes to the way that the U.S. does trade business after this is all over. Navarro is widely known because of his hawkish views on China.

“One of the — one of the things that this crisis has taught us is that we are dangerously over-dependent on a global supply chain for our medicines, like penicillin; our medical supplies, like masks; and our medical equipment, like ventilators,” Navarro said. “We have — right now as we speak, over 50 countries have already imposed some forms of export restrictions in their country against the rest of the world. And what we’ve — what we’re learning from that is that no matter how many treaties you have, no matter how many alliances, no matter how many phone calls, when push comes to shove you run the risk, as a nation, of not having what you need.”

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) suggested on Thursday night that socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) lost the Michigan Democratic primary because the Democrats used “voter suppression.”

Ocasio-Cortez, who made the remarks during her first interview with Fox News, made the suggestion when asked by anchor Bret Baier about why she keeps saying that the far-left has a winning message when it is getting blown out all over the country.

“You did a campaign event at the University of Michigan, 10,000 people, it was rock star status, but those kids did not show up at least if you look at the numbers, just overall this race,” Baier said. “So, how can you say the progressive position is still prevailing nationwide when Joe Biden is winning so much?”

“Well, I think one thing that isn’t being talked about is that rampant voter suppression in this country,” Ocasio-Cortez continued. “Right there in Ann Arbor where we had that rally, those kids were waiting three hours in line to vote in Michigan. And so, when we talk about who’s turning out and who’s not turning out, we absolutely —”

“So, just to be clear, you’re saying you think voters didn’t get to vote who wanted to vote in Michigan?” Baier pressed.

“Absolutely,” Ocasio-Cortez claimed. “Obviously, there’s more that we need to do in terms of turning out youth voters, it’s, uh, we need to make sure we are inspiring young people to turn out, but when you do turn out, you should not be waiting three, four, seven hours in order to vote and that causes people to leave.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s suggestion that Sanders lost in Michigan and performed poorly in Ann Arbor because of “voter suppression” is a direct attack on the Democrat-controlled state and local goverment.

Michigan’s state government is controlled by Democrats and elections are overseen by Democrat Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, whose job is “ensuring elections are secure and accessible.”

Ann Arbor is also controlled by Democrats.

Earlier in the interview, Baier asked Ocasio-Cortez, “You are Bernie Sanders most prominent surrogate, was it difficult to witness his kind of swift fault from front runner status. He is almost a protest candidate now, your thoughts on that?”

“Well, I think one of the things that we saw with Bernie Sanders’s leadership, even today is how transformative it is for the American people. Just today he laid out a very strong plan in response to the Coronavirus for everyday people, for main street, not just Wall Street,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “He’s talking about, how do we make sure that everyone with access to Medicare could get it and that that Medicare is improved and expanded. How do we make sure people aren’t booted out of their homes whether it’s not being able to afford their mortgage payment this month or not being able to afford their rent payments?”

“But it does seem like Joe Biden is on his way to the nomination, are you worried he’s not going to be saying those things?” Baier pressed.

Ocasio-Cortez responded, “Well, you know, I think this part of our process is to make sure we come together, I think there’s going to be a real vigorous debate I believe on Sunday night if I’m not mistaken and part of that process means I think we will come together and I think Bernie Sanders has done a great job and is continuing to do a great job of pushing to make sure we have a party agenda that fights for working people.”

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden embraced far-left anti-gun extremist Robert Francis O’Rourke during a rally on Monday night in Texas, declaring that the failed Senate and presidential candidate was going to lead Biden’s anti-Second Amendment efforts.

“I wanna make something clear, I’m going to guarantee you this is not the last you’ve seen of [O’Rourke],” Biden told the audience. “You’re going to take care of the gun problem with me. You’re going to be the one who leads this effort.”

“I’m counting on you. I’m counting on you,” Biden continued. “We need you badly, the state needs you, the country needs you. You’re the best.”

O’Rourke has called for sending law enforcement to people’s homes to confiscate their lawfully-owned firearms if they did not comply with his extremist agenda.

The Daily Wire highlighted O’Rourke’s fringe anti-Second Amendment views in a profile piece last year:

O’Rourke has frequently supported gun control policies that would infringe upon Americans’ Second Amendment rights. He supports expanded background checks and limitations or bans on certain weapons and magazines that are currently in wide distribution. O’Rourke supports a ban on the undefinable sub-class of firearms referred to as so-called “assault weapons” — a line of thought that, if taken to its logical conclusion, could lead to the banning of all semi-automatic firearms in America. Furthermore, O’Rourke has gone farther than any of his 2020 Democratic presidential nomination rivals in emphatically calling for a mandatory “buyback” program — i.e., government-mandated gun confiscation — for all civilian-owned “assault weapons.”

Members of the Democratic Party have repeatedly made false or misleading claims this week over the coronavirus outbreak in an apparent attempt to damage President Donald Trump. Even worse, many of the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates have proposed policies that would likely put the U.S. at greater risk of having an outbreak.

The Associated Press fact-checked Democratic presidential candidates Michael Bloomberg and Joe Biden over attacks they made on Trump this week.

Bloomberg said: “There’s nobody here to figure out what the hell we should be doing. And he’s defunded – he’s defunded Centers for Disease Control, CDC, so we don’t have the organization we need. This is a very serious thing.”

Biden, comparing the Obama-Biden administration to the current administration, said: “We increased the budget of the CDC. We increased the NIH budget. … He’s wiped all that out. … He cut the funding for the entire effort.”

The AP debunked the claims, reporting:

They’re both wrong to say the agencies have seen their money cut. Bloomberg is repeating the false allegation in a new ad that states the U.S. is unprepared for the virus because of “reckless cuts” to the CDC. Trump’s budgets have proposed cuts to public health, only to be overruled by Congress, where there’s strong bipartisan support for agencies such as the CDC and NIH. Instead, financing has increased.

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) promoted a claim from far-left Democrat Senator Brian Schatz (HI), who wrote: “The Coronavirus is not contained. It will not fade in the spring. Trump cut CDC by 9 percent. Trump eliminated the position at the global health security teams at NSC and DHS. They don’t know what they are doing. They are fixated on the politics and the stock market.”

Not only is the claim that Trump cut CDC funding wrong, but Ocasio-Cortez’s decision to promote the bogus attack about Trump eliminating a position at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shows her hypocrisy as she called for eliminating the entire DHS last year.

Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren politicized the outbreak in an effort to help her campaign, which has been on the fritz for some time now, stating that she would eliminate funding for the border wall – which is an important national security objective – in order to fight the coronavirus.

Warren tweeted, “Coronavirus poses a serious health, diplomatic, & economic threat, & we must be prepared to confront it head-on. So I’m introducing a bill to transfer all funding for @realDonaldTrump’s racist border wall to @HHSGov & @USAID to combat coronavirus.”

On the issue of policy, many of the proposals that the 2020 Democrats are running on would put the U.S. at far greater risk of having an outbreak.

Biden, Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren have all stated that taxpayer-funded health care should be given to illegal aliens, which reports state would act as a magnet and could attract sick people from around the world to come to the U.S.

In 2018, The Los Angeles Times Editorial Board wrote the following about the state of California providing taxpayer-funded health care for illegal aliens:

As the report notes, declaring a healthcare-for-all policy would make California a magnet for anyone who needed expensive healthcare. In other words, it would make the state a hotbed for medical tourism — on California’s dime.

In a report on the health care proposals from the 2020 Democrats, The Federalist reported:

By eliminating virtually all patient payments for their own care, single payer would increase demand for care—demand Bruenig concedes the system likely could not meet, even under normal circumstances. Consider that an outbreak centered more than 6,000 miles from the Pacific coast has already led to a run on respiratory face masks in the United States. During a widespread outbreak on our shores, an influx of both sick and worried-but-well patients could swamp hospitals already facing higher demand for “free” care.

Including a system of global budgets as part of a transition to single payer would leave hospitals with little financial flexibility to cope with a sudden surge of patients. Sanders’s Senate version of single-payer legislation does not include such a payment mechanism, but the House single-payer bill does. Sen. Elizabeth Warren and other liberal think-tanks believe the concept, which provides hospitals lump-sum payments to cover the facilities’ entire operating budget, can help reduce health-care costs.

But in its May 2019 report on single payer, the Congressional Budget Office noted that consistently slow growth of global budget payments in Britain’s National Health Service has “created severe financial strains on the health care system.” And how: Rising hospital bed occupancy rates have created longer wait times in emergency rooms, with patients stuck on gurneys for hours. In one example of its annual “winter crisis,” two years ago the NHS postponed 55,000 surgeries due to capacity constraints, with one ER physician apologizing for “Third World conditions of the department due to overcrowding.”

A British health system barely able to cope with a predictable occurrence like a winter flu outbreak seems guaranteed to crumble in the face of a major pandemic. Voters lured by the siren song of socialism should bear that in mind as they ponder news of the coronavirus and Sanders’ “Medicare for All.”

Sanders, who aggressively backs giving illegal aliens taxpayer-funded health care, has also said that he is open to tearing down border barriers on the southern border and has also stated that he wants to abolish Customs and Border Protection (CBP), which is the front line in protecting America’s borders.

Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) researcher Spencer Raley wrote in an analysis of illegal immigration that “welfare programs and refundable tax credits” were major drivers of illegal immigration.

While the U.S. should help citizens of other nations if it can, that does not mean that the U.S. should open up its borders to treat people here.

So far, the administration has pledged $100 million in financial assistance to China and other nations impacted by the coronavirus.

A report late last year from the prestigious Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health found that the United States was by far the most prepared nation to handle an epidemic.

The 140 Global Health Security Index questions are organized across seven categories:

Prevention: Prevention of the emergence or release of pathogens
Detection and Reporting: Early detection and reporting for epidemics of potential international concern
Rapid Response: Rapid response to and mitigation of the spread of an epidemic
Health System: Sufficient and robust health system to treat the sick and protect health workers
Compliance with International Norms: Commitments to improving national capacity, financing plans to address gaps, and adhering to global norms
Risk Environment: Overall risk environment and country vulnerability to biological threats

The report ranked the United States:

Overall: #1
Prevention: #1
Detection and Reporting: #1
Rapid Response: #2
Health System: #1
Compliance with International Norms: #1
Risk Environment: #19

The Trump administration has aggressively moved to combat the coronavirus as it established a task force to fight it over a month ago; has attempted for the last 2 months to have the CDC enter China to assist in containing the outbreak and researching the virus; has pledged $100 million to other countries to combat it; immediately banned flights from China; has soughs $2.5 billion to combat the virus in the U.S. and agreed to give Congress even more when it was asked; has considered using special powers that it has that would boost domestic manufacturing to combat the virus; and has ordered the Navy to have all ships that have visited countries in the Pacific region to self-quarantine for 14 days.

President Donald Trump was greeted at a rally in India on Monday morning to approximately 110,000 cheering Indian fans of his who were wearing white “Trump” hats.

As Trump entered Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera, on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, India played “Macho Man” by Village People.

Prior to boarding Marine One on Sunday, Trump told reporters about the trip to India, “Well, I look forward to being with the people of India. We’re going to have many millions and millions of people. It’s a long trip.”

“But I get along very well with the Prime Minister, Prime Minister Modi. He’s a friend of mine. I committed to this trip a long time ago, and I look forward to going,” Trump continued. “We’re taking — as you know, the First Lady is coming. Some of you are coming. I hear it’s going to be a big event. Some people say the biggest event they’ve ever had in India. That’s what the Prime Minister told me. This will be the biggest event they’ve ever had. So it’s going to be very exciting. I’m going to be there one night. That’s not too much.”

The White House announced Trump’s visit to India earlier this month in a statement:

President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will visit India on February 24 – 25, 2020. The President and The First Lady will travel to New Delhi and Ahmedabad, which is in Prime Minister Modi’s home state of Gujarat and played such an important role in Mahatma Gandhi’s life and leadership of the Indian independence movement. During a phone call over the weekend, President Trump and Prime Minister Modi agreed the trip will further strengthen the United States-India strategic partnership and highlight the strong and enduring bonds between the American and Indian people.

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi tweeted: “India looks forward to welcoming @POTUS @realDonaldTrump . It is an honour that he will be with us tomorrow, starting with the historic programme in Ahmedabad!”

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India opted to appeal to Mr. Trump’s first love — crowd size — as he stages a rally of more than 100,000 people in Ahmedabad on Monday after a drive in from the airport along roads where perhaps 100,000 more will line the motorcade route,” The New York Times reported. “The president will almost certainly not be greeted by the 10 million people he expects, but it will look like an enormous crowd nonetheless and, the Indians hope, satisfy his need for affirmation.”

The Times noted how foreign leaders have made it a point to impress Trump when he visits their countries.

“The British have a queen, so they made a grand show of a state dinner at Buckingham Palace. The French have Bastille Day, so they invited the president to view their elaborate military parade down the Champs-Élysées,” the Times added. “The Japanese have an emperor, so they invited Mr. Trump to be the first foreign leader to visit their newly installed monarch — and threw in a sumo match with a special presidential trophy for good measure.”

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden made extreme remarks during a CNN town hall event on Thursday night where he called for banning semi-automatic firearms and “clips that have multiple bullets in them,” which would effectively ban nearly all firearms.

“I’m going to do everything in my power in office or out of office to get those assault weapons off the street, which I have done once already,” Biden claimed. “And to get those clips that have multiple bullets in them not for sale, not be able to sell silencers, all those things.”Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden made extreme remarks during a CNN town hall event on Thursday night where he called for banning semi-automatic firearms and “clips that have multiple bullets in them,” which would effectively ban nearly all firearms.

“I’m going to do everything in my power in office or out of office to get those assault weapons off the street, which I have done once already,” Biden claimed. “And to get those clips that have multiple bullets in them not for sale, not be able to sell silencers, all those things.”

Biden made similar remarks last September, saying, “The idea that we don’t have elimination of assault-type weapons, magazines that can hold multiple bullets in them, it’s absolutely mindless.”

“It’s no violation of the Second Amendment,” Biden falsely claimed.

Biden, who made the remarks while talking to reporters, later said that there should be no compromise with the Republicans when it came to his extreme anti-Second Amendment proposals.

“None,” Biden. “None on this. I think this is no compromise. This is one we have to just push, and push, and push, and push, and push.”

The Daily Wire highlighted Biden’s views on the Second Amendment in a profile piece last September:

Biden was a leading proponent and sponsor of the federal “assault weapons” ban, a subset of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994. Throughout his career, he has generally been supportive of curtailing Second Amendment rights. Biden has also supported mandating five-day waiting periods for gun purchases, as well as closing the alleged “gun show loophole.” Biden supports a ban on the undefinable sub-class of firearms referred to as so-called “assault weapons” — a line of thought that, if taken to its logical conclusion, could lead to the banning of all semi-automatic firearms in America.

Biden’s extreme proposal of banning semi-automatic firearms would do little to reduce mass shootings in the United States, according to a new study released this month by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, named after notorious anti-Second Amendment activist billionaire Michael Bloomberg, who is also running for president as a Democrat.

The study “did not find an independent association between assault weapon bans and the incidence of fatal mass shootings after controlling for the effects of bans on large-capacity magazines.”

Statistician Leah Libresco reported in The Washington Post in 2017 that she used to wish that “the National Rifle Association would stop blocking common-sense gun-control reforms such as banning assault weapons, restricting silencers, shrinking magazine sizes and all the other measures that could make guns less deadly.”

“Then, my colleagues and I at FiveThirtyEight spent three months analyzing all 33,000 lives ended by guns each year in the United States, and I wound up frustrated in a whole new way,” Libresco wrote. “We looked at what interventions might have saved those people, and the case for the policies I’d lobbied for crumbled when I examined the evidence.”

In response to several horrific school shootings in the U.S., Biden said that he did not want to protect kids at schools by arming school faculty.

Biden also attacked Texas Governor Greg Abbott last September for signing a bill into law that allowed Texans to carry lawfully owned firearms into places of worship, saying that it was “totally irrational.”

Three months after his remarks, a hero at a church in Texas stopped an attacker within a matter of seconds after the attacker opened fire on the congregation.

Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi falsely claimed in an interview that aired on Monday that President Donald Trump was not acquitted by the U.S. Senate earlier this month.

“What about though, the fact that the president seems liberated … he was acquitted, his poll ratings are higher,” CNN’s Christiane Amanpour said before being interrupted by Pelosi.

“He was not, there was no acquittal,” Pelosi falsely claimed. “You can’t have an acquittal unless you have a trial, and you can’t have a trail when you have witnesses and documents.”

“So he can say he’s acquitted, and the headlines can say ‘acquitted,’ but he’s impeached forever, branded with that and not vindicated,” Pelosi continued.

Later in the interview, Pelosi said, “I can’t even envision a situation where he would be re-elected, but we don’t take anything for granted. … but everybody knows that we must be unified in making sure that he does not have a second term.”

Pelosi continued, “Our country is great, the American people are wonderful, we’re a resilient country, we can withstand one term, but the destruction that he would do to the courts of our country and the environment … he must be defeated.”

Pelosi concluded by saying that when candidates are in the “arena” that “you have to be prepared to throw a punch, because you have to be prepared to take a punch, for the children.”

Pelosi’s claims were categorically false as Trump was acquitted in an official Senate trail from both of House Democrats’ partisan articles of impeachment.

Pelosi is not the first Democrat member of Congress that has falsely claimed that Trump was not acquitted from Democrats’ partisan articles of impeachment.

Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer the same thing earlier this month after Trump’s acquittal.

“The Senate has clearly spoken now, the president was acquitted,” CNN host Wolf Blitzer began. “Do you think your –”

“No! Wolf, (laughs), [Trump] wasn’t acquitted,” Hirono falsely claimed. “It was a rigged trial. You don’t get acquitted when you don’t even get to call witnesses or relevant witnesses or have the documents because the president stone walled all efforts on the part of the House to get the information they requested.”

“So, there you go,” Hirono continued. “It was a rigged trial, he can run around saying he was acquitted but you don’t get acquitted in a rigged trial.”

“Well, I just want to point out Senator, there was a roll call, guilty or not guilty, not guilty was the majority and the Chief Justice of the United States announced that he was acquitted, that he was not guilty,” Blitzer responded.

“But the American public knows that it was a rigged trial,” Hirono claimed without evidence. “So, okay you’re found not guilty in a rigged trial. I don’t think that they think this was all kosher, not it wasn’t. So, meanwhile you have the president crowing about it, which is totally expected, and now it’s anything goes for this president and this administration and all his enablers.”

The United States led the entire world in reducing CO2 emissions last year while also experiencing solid economic growth, according to a newly released report.

“The United States saw the largest decline in energy-related CO2 emissions in 2019 on a country basis – a fall of 140 Mt, or 2.9%, to 4.8 Gt,” The International Energy Agency (IEA) reported on Tuesday. “US emissions are now down almost 1 Gt from their peak in the year 2000, the largest absolute decline by any country over that period.”

“A 15% reduction in the use of coal for power generation underpinned the decline in overall US emissions in 2019,” the IEA continued. “Coal-fired power plants faced even stronger competition from natural gas-fired generation, with benchmark gas prices an average of 45% lower than 2018 levels. As a result, gas increased its share in electricity generation to a record high of 37%. Overall electricity demand declined because demand for air-conditioning and heating was lower as a result of milder summer and winter weather.

The IEA noted that 80% of the increase in CO2 emissions came from Asia and that China and India both contributed significantly to the increase.

“In China, emissions rose but were tempered by slower economic growth and higher output from low-carbon sources of electricity,” the IEA reported. “Renewables continued to expand in China, and 2019 was also the first full year of operation for seven large-scale nuclear reactors in the country.”

“Emissions growth in India was moderate in 2019, with CO2 emissions from the power sector declining slightly as electricity demand was broadly stable and strong renewables growth prompted coal-fired electricity generation to fall for the first time since 1973,” the IEA concluded. “Continued growth in fossil-fuel demand in other sectors of the Indian economy, notably transport, offset the decline in the power sector. Emissions grew strongly in Southeast Asia, lifted by robust coal demand.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) responded to the news by writing on Twitter, “FACT you will NEVER see on the 6 o’clock news: U.S. emissions FELL 2.9%, or by 140 million tons, continuing the trend of the United States LEADING THE WORLD IN TOTAL EMISSIONS DECLINE since 2000.”

The news came after the media promoted far-left climate extremists like socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Greta Thunberg who demonized the U.S. and economic growth for polluting the world.

Thunberg attacked the U.S. last month during a speech she gave at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland for leaving the Paris Climate Accord, despite the fact that the U.S. leads the world in reducing CO2 emissions.

“The fact that the U.S.A. is leaving the Paris accord seems to outrage and worry everyone, and it should,” Thunberg said. “But the fact that we’re all about to fail the commitments you signed up for in the Paris Agreement doesn’t seem to bother the people in power even the least.”
